Everyone knows that home photos taken in the summer or fall look much better than those taken in the winter here in Central New York. Therefore, if you plan to list at any point this year (or early in 2020), now is the time to get professional photos taken of your home. This way your home will look great in its online listing, even if there’s snow on the ground by the time it hits the market. To see our full message on this topic, watch this short video.

Central New Yorkers: Be on the Lookout for This Invasive Species

An invasive species of horned beetle has found its way to New York State, and you can help stop it from spreading. Here’s how.

Central New Yorkers: Do you have a swimming pool? If so, we’ve got an important message to share with you today. This message, which came first from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), is simple: watch out for long-horned beetles. According to pest expert Jerome Snyder of Pestmasters, these small, black bugs can be identified by their hard shell, which sports approximately six white dots. While not dangerous to humans, these beetles are an invasive species with no natural predators in our local ecosystem. So if you happen to locate any of these beetles, please contact the New York State DEC right away so that they can record and address the problem. Their contact information can be found here. If you have any other questions or would like more information, feel free to give us a call or send us an email. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

There Aren’t Enough Sellers Out There

There’s a problem in our market right now: Compared to last year, our collective number of closed sales and pending sales have fallen off a cliff. What does this mean? There simply aren’t enough sellers out there. It seems like there are three buyers for every available listing. In fact, we recently listed a home that fielded 13(!) offers. If you’re a seller, this means the time to act is now, and we’d love to help you get started.

You Can Take Advantage of a Golden Opportunity in Our Market

Our market is starving for home sellers, so if you put your home on the market now, you can sell quickly and for top dollar.

Did you know there’s a golden opportunity for a certain segment of our real estate market right now? To explain what I mean, I’m joined today by Jenna Barber, our team’s newest agent. Jenna has been with our team for two months, and in that time, she’s already done 50% of the business she did during all of last year—not just in terms of units sold, but also in terms of her total dollar volume. In those two months, she’s also accumulated 35 active buyers, six of which will be buying within the next 30 days. By the time the next 30 days are up, she’ll have already surpassed the amount of business she did in all of last year.
There are so many buyers out there looking to buy in Central New York, but there aren’t enough listings to go around.

There is one problem agents like Jenna are having, though—there aren’t enough houses on the market.
